Learning & Access

Welcome to the homepage of NBT's Learning and Access department.

This month sees the Company performing at Leeds Grand Theatre at the start of our Spring/Summer season. Performing the Mixed Programme from 26 – 28 February and Swan Lake from 4 – 7 March, it offers the opportunity to experience contrasting dance styles.

To celebrate NBT’s 40th Anniversary, throughout the tour we are offering workshops based on a selection of productions, providing the opportunity for schools to choose a production that particularly appeals to their students or links in with curriculum work in school.

Following the success of our Dancition project last year, we are again leading a project with 5 Schools in Calderdale. Involving teacher inset sessions, workshops and a theatre visit, the project aims to increase the understanding and enjoyment of dance and creativity as a way of learning, and to develop teachers’ skills in delivering dance activity. The schools, Calder High School, Cragg Vale Junior School, Riverside Junior School, Burnley Road Junior School and Scout Road Primary School will all develop a piece of dance to perform in a sharing at the end of the project in April.

If you are interested in being involved with the any of our projects or would like to book a schools workshop please contact us on 0113 2745355.
