John has a fanatical commitment to expanding the provision of music for young people and is Artistic Director of NOEL (Northern Orchestral Enterprises Ltd.), which undertakes extensive educational work and which runs the Yorkshire Youth Choir and Orchestra.

Has conducted throughout the UK with many of the major orchestras, and overseas in eleven different countries.

Personal

John is married to a musician, Alison, who teaches and conducts numerous choirs and has two children — a son, Rodric, a member of the successful band Idlewild, and a 16 year old daughter, Catrin.
