About our Associate programme

The Northern Ballet Theatre Associate Programme is aimed at students, male & female, between the ages of 10 & 16 years, contemplating dance as a career. The programmes are an enhancement to the student’s regular dance training and help prepare them for full-time vocational training.

Students are placed on a programme suitable to their age and ability. Classes run for 33 weeks of the year during term time and a commitment to attend regular weekly classes is required.

The programmes and timetable for the academic year 2008/9 are-

Junior Programme (10 & 11 years)- 5.30-7pm Monday evening

before progressing to the Intermediate & Senior Programmes. The programme
includes a weekly classical and body conditioning class.

Intermediate Programme (12 – 14 years)- 8.45am- 1.50pm Saturday

Students on this programme attend classes in body conditioning, classical and
contemporary techniques and pointe work / strengthening.
