Arts & Business Award

In recognition of their successful partnership, Northern Ballet Theatre and Leeds Metropolitan University have received an Arts & Business New Partners Award at a reception on Monday 14 November at the beautiful Nostell Priory, Wakefield.

The event was held in the magnificent lower chamber where formal presentations were made to celebrate the partnerships that have been supported by Arts & Business New Partners, an investment programme funded by the DCMS (Department for Culture, Media & Sport) to promote the development of mutually beneficial partnerships between business and the arts.

Speaking about the award, Mark Skipper, Northern Ballet Theatre’s Chief Executive commented:

“Receiving this award is a welcome commendation from Arts & Business, that typifies their enlightened support. The New Partners investment has enabled both our organisations to achieve the most adventurous element of our partnership to date. It enables NBT to tour “La Traviata” to three cities in China in January 2006, which also helps Leeds Met to raise their profile in the region and assist in their recruitment of students from China as well as showcasing the work of its business incubator in Hangzhou.”
